The wastage and hassle of keeping staff business cards up-to-date is being eliminated with the launch of the Card Corporation "print by remote control" service.

Card Corporation customers can log onto the interactive Web site 24 hours a day to update personal details, review card layout and order small batches of professionally printed business cards for next day delivery. The technology behind Card Corporation completely automates the order processing and intelligently batches jobs to printers for overnight production. This enables Card Corporation to offer volume discount prices for any single order of 125 cards.

Ivor Jacobs, Director of Development, predicts that UK businesses will immediately reduce costs by using Card Corporation. "Change is expensive. The last 'Phoneday' cost UK businesses millions of pounds," Jacobs recalled "Every day, mergers, company re-structuring, mobility of the workforce, all conspire to add to the 'mountain' of obsolete business stationery. Our on-line service is a highly practical solution to reducing the costs of change."

To set up a Card Corporation account, the user sends a logo artwork in digital form with an existing business card. Card Corporation sets up the card template on the Web site along with access privileges agreed with the client. "A company may not want all members of staff to be able to change card details or place unlimited orders," explained Ivor Jacobs. "Users are given passwords to gain access to as few or as many functions as the employer decides."
